Replacing your factory recoil pin with an HTA Bolt Buffer is one of the most simple, affordable, and effective upgrades you can make to your Ruger 10/22. These firm polyurethane buffers absorb energy from the cycling action with each shot, preventing damage to the 10/22's receiver caused by the bolt's metal-on-metal battering. Our custom injection molded bolt buffers are tough enough to last for thousands and thousands of rounds and won't be affected by cleaning solvents or other chemicals. As an added bonus, particularly for suppressor users, these buffers also help dampen the sound made by the 10/22's action when firing. This drop-in upgrade simply replaces the factory metal recoil pin; no alterations required. The buffers even feature chamfered edges for easy install and removal. it actually works!

at first i was skeptical about needing a buffer on a 22lr. but for the price, why not! there is a noticeable reduction in audible noise from the cycling of the action. as for reduced wear, who knows? my 10/22 is probably 30 years old.
