Seamlessly integrating with the Ruger® 10/22® and 10/22 Takedown® series of rifles, the MBS 22 is more than just a bullpup conversion. The MBS 22 offers features not found on any other stock or conversion platform for the 10/22, combining the utility of many accessories, like a left side charging handle, quick release bolt lock, and M-Lok compatible handguard, into one system. Our design retains all the benefits of a bullpup, like compactness and balance, while dramatically mitigating the drawbacks of other designs, like poor trigger performance and complex disassembly steps.
By deviating from the typical left and right "clamshell" design, our Modular Bullpup System for the 10/22 eliminates the nuts and bolts inherent to other conversions and allows the rifle to be field stripped in a matter of seconds. Removing a few pins and the factory takedown screw is all it takes to separate the receiver and trigger assembly from the MBS 22. Optics and accessories mounted to the MBS 22's picatinny rails and ten M-Lok slots can even be left in place to help hold zero.
Another feature of the MBS 22 that sets it apart from the competition is the trigger linkage. Our dual arm linkage is made from nitride treated steel for maximum corrosion resistance and rigidity. Uniquely, it can be set up with either a "Direct" or "Cammed" pull linkage system. The Cammed Trigger Linkage actually reduces the perceived trigger weight of the factory trigger from about 5 pounds to around 3.5 pounds with absolutely no modification to the OEM fire control components. The "Direct Pull Linkage" system works like a more traditional bullpup linkage, transferring energy in a smooth linear motion to ensure crisp breaks and quick resets. The trigger linkage can be adjusted for take-up and overtravel (see instructions for correct adjustment methods) and even the pull weight of the MBS 22's trigger linkage can be adjusted for unparalleled trigger customization among bullpup conversions.
Featuring a removable shell deflector, ambidextrous charging handles, and a trigger block safety, the MBS 22 can be utilized by left or right handed users out of the box. The charging handle incorporates a rock-to-lock mechanism, allowing the bolt to be held open in one smooth motion and then closed with a slap. Bull barrels up to .920" in diameter can be used, as well as a variety of other types, like the Ruger factory tapered barrel, thanks to three sizes of interchangeable bushings included with each kit. The MBS 22 even conceals three storage compartments, two inside the stock and one in the grip behind the removable knuckle guard. These three compartments can house tools, parts, batteries, and even a spare BX-1 rotary magazine.
In the MBS 22's lightest configuration (deflector, knuckle guard, and accessories removed), the complete rifle weighs only slightly more than a 10/22 in the typical OEM configuration, or less than 5.5 pounds. At only 26.25" long with an 18" barrel, the MBS 22 is as compact as an SBR without the tax stamp and better balanced than a traditional rifle, allowing for effortless one-handed shooting. If set up as an SBR, barrels as short as 9" can be used and the open front handguard allows for suppressors to nest inside for an incredibly small and maneuverable overall package.
Made from durable glass reinforced injection molded polymer and nitride treated steel, the MBS 22 is built to be used for a lifetime which is why we guarantee it with the same lifetime warranty that covers all HTA products. Accepts any factory and aftermarket magazines. Made in the USA. *Ruger 10/22 and accessories not included.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE CHECK THAT YOUR RUGER 10/22 BARREL IS AT LEAST 18 IN LENGTH. MOST 10/22 barrels are long enough to produce a legal length rifle in the MBS 22. However, some 10/22 variants and aftermarket barrels are shorter than 18". Federal law requires rifles to have a minimum overall length of 26". The HTA MBS 22 requires a minimum barrel length of 18" to achieve the 26" overall length (without the collapsible stock module). You can check your barrel length by removing any non-permanent muzzle device and measuring it from muzzle to breech face.
Some states or local jurisdictions may have further regulations governing this product when assembled on a 10/22 (NY, CT, etc). This stock will add what is considered a "pistol grip" by some states, as well as shorten the overall length below some states' minimum requirement which may be longer than 26". By purchasing this item, the buyer is acknowledging they understand their state and local laws and intend to comply with any further infringements.
